Home School Agreement

Our Home School Agreement sets out our expectations for both children and parents. We expect all parents of children who attend Grayswood Primary School to support our Christian distinctiveness and sign this agreement so that together we are able to create and sustain a solid and successful partnership which supports all of our families and enables all of our children to achieve their full potential in a happy, caring Church of England School.


The staff at Grayswood Primary School will:

  • Promote the safeguarding of all children and child protection procedures
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for all children
  • Establish and develop the foundations for life-long learning
  • Promote high expectations so that all children can reach their full potential
  • Provide a broad, balanced and enriched, creative curriculum
  • Enable all children to do their best by setting them appropriate, challenging targets
  • Encourage all children to take pride in their achievements
  • Encourage all children to show a caring attitude towards each other
  • Support all children so that they feel able to talk about anything that is worrying them
  • Welcome parents into school and keep them well informed about our school
  • Keep parents informed about their child’s progress and suggest ways that they can support their child’s learning
  • Ensure that parents know procedures for expressing any concerns


Parents of children who attend Grayswood Primary School will:

  • Ensure that you park responsibly, with care and consideration for children’s safety and with respect for our neighbours
  • Ensure that your child arrives at school on time and ready to learn
  • Encourage your child to become an independent learner and enable them to take responsibility for their own personal organisation
  • Support our school’s expectations for behaviour in line with our Positive Behaviour Strategy
  • Support your child’s learning and offer appropriate support with reading, home learning and other projects when necessary
  • Inform the school office of any absence from school immediately and avoid taking holiday in term time
  • Attend Parent/Teacher consultations to discuss your child’s learning and progress
  • Inform the school of anything which you think may affect your child’s learning
  • Share any concerns with your child’s Class Teacher in the first instance and with the Headteacher if appropriate


As a child, who attends Grayswood Primary School, you will:

  • Arrive at school on time and ready to learn
  • Respect and follow our Golden Rules as a responsible member of our school community
  • Develop your independence and take responsibility for your personal organisation
  • Have a positive attitude in all you do
  • Take a pride in your learning and share your successes with your family
  • Tell a grown up if you are worried about something or someone if it is making you unhappy
