The aim of Forest schooling here at Grayswood Primary School is for all children (and adults) to develop skills of collaboration, cooperation, team building and awareness of the natural environment. Everyone will develop their knowledge and understanding of the natural world and our piece of woodland in particular giving them a sense of stewardship which is crucial to the ethos of our forest school. Children will make their own choices, whilst understanding the risks and challenges of the tasks that they complete, especially when they are using tools. These transferable life skills will then be applied to their learning within the classroom. Our Forest School Leaders and Support Leaders have completed their Forest School Training and maintain their skills by undertaking regular continuous professional development.
