Start of the day

Children may arrive at school from 8.20am using our 'Kiss and Drop' system (further details of this can be found under the 'Travel Plan' tab) at which time a member of staff will be on duty.

The school bell is rung at 8.35am for KS2 and 8:40am for EYFS and KS1. When the bell is rung, children will line up in their classes and be collected from the playground by their Class Teacher.

On very wet mornings your child may be directed straight into the school hall or into their classroom, where they will be supervised by members of our staff until it is time for the school day to begin.

If for any reason you arrive late, please take your child directly to the school office so their arrival can be noted and they can be accompanied to their classroom.

End of the day

The main gates will open at 3:10pm. Please wait for your child in the playground and they will be brought out to you. Children are only allowed to leave when both the child and the teacher have seen the waiting parent and after the child has politely said 'Good Bye'; this is for your child’s safety and to encourage good manners. If you have arranged for someone different to pick up your child, you must inform the office.

After school is usually the best time to have a quick word with the teacher rather than the busy morning time. If more time is needed, then we can arrange a meeting at a convenient time for us and you.

Assemblies and Celebration Assembly

All children participate in a daily act of worship and this is usually held first thing in the morning. On a Friday, we have a Celebration Assembly at 8:50am where we celebrate the success, hard work and positive behaviour of particular children that week. If your child has been chosen to receive an award in Celebration Assembly, we will send a note home in their book bag the week before, inviting you to attend that particular assembly.

Play Time

All children have a 15-minute break every morning. Children in EYFS/KS1 are provided with a piece of fruit, funded by the DfE, and children in KS2 are encouraged to bring their own.

Lunchtime

Children have the choice of a school lunch or a packed lunch provided from home. Further information school lunches can be found under the 'School Meals' tab.

Children are supervised whilst they eat their lunch and encouraged to try new foods. If your child is having a particular difficulty eating their lunch, then parents will be informed and a plan put in place to support this.

Buddies

Each child in Reception will be given a buddy from our Year 2 class when they start school. Your child’s buddy will take them out at playtime and support them with learning the routines of school life. The older children are encouraged to take their buddy responsibility very seriously and will continue to act as your child’s partner when we visit the church for our services.

Water bottles

All children should bring a named water bottle to school each day (no metal water bottles please) are encouraged to keep hydrated.

Milk is available free of charge up until your child’s 5th birthday. After that, if you still wish your child to have milk each day, it can be purchased through the Cool Milk scheme at:
