Morning session

Lunch time

12.00pm - 1.00pm

Afternoon session

1.00pm - 3.00pm

At the start of the day

Children may arrive at school from 8.30am using our 'Kiss and Drop" (please see About Us < Travel for further information) at which time a member of staff will be on duty. The school bell is rung at 8.55am and you may help your child to line up with the rest of their class.

The children in EYFS Reception class will be collected by their teacher and taken in to Wrens class through their outside play area. When your child moves up to Years 1 and 2, we hope you will support us by saying 'Good Bye' to your child in the playground and allowing your child the responsibility of organising themselves at this time. When your child moves up into our junior school (Year 3 onwards) please allow your child the responsibility of taking themselves into school gate and playground where they will be greeted by a member of our school staff.

On very wet mornings your child may be directed straight into the school hall until bell time. At those times it will be easier if you drop your child at the hall side door via EYFS Reception entrance and go. A member of staff will be there to greet them. If, for any reason you arrive late, please take your child directly to the school office so their arrival can be noted and they can be accompanied to their classroom.

At the end of the day

Please wait for your child in the playground. The children will be brought out through our outside play area. Children are only allowed to leave when both the child and the teacher have seen the waiting parent and after the child has politely said 'Good Bye'. This is for your child’s safety and to encourage good manners. We have a class clipboard at the school entrance where we would ask you to write down if someone other than yourself or normal carer is picking up your child. We then refer to this at the end of the day.

After school is usually the best time to have a quick word with the teacher rather than the busy morning time. If more time is needed then we can arrange a meeting but this may need more notice to arrange.

Assemblies and Celebration Assembly

All children participate in a daily act of worship and this is usually held mid-morning. On a Friday we have a Celebration Assembly at 9.05am and all parents are welcome to attend. This weekly event allows us to celebrate the success, hard work and good behaviour of the children during that week. If your child is to receive an award in Celebration Assembly, we will send a note home in their book bag on the day before, suggesting you might like to attend that particular Assembly.

Play Time

The children have a 15 minute break at 10.30am every day and your child will play as part of the whole school either in the main playground or on the grassy back playground depending on the weather.

Buddies

Each child in EYFS Reception class will be given a buddy from our Year 2 class when they start. Your child’s buddy will take them out at playtime and in to lunch and help them with the routines of washing hands and lining up. They will also take them into assembly and sit with them to model good behaviour. The older children are encouraged to take their buddy responsibility very seriously and will continue to act as your child’s partner when we visit the church for our services.

Lunchtime

Children may eat a cooked midday meal or bring a packed lunch from home. Please inform us of any allergies on your child’s medical information form, an accompanying doctor’s letter will also be required.

The children are supervised throughout lunch and they are gently encouraged to eat their lunch. If your child appears to be having any difficulty with their food at midday we will let you know. Equally if you have any concerns about how they are eating do come and speak to us.

School meals can be paid for weekly or half termly by cash, online or by cheque. Please give as much notice as possible, and at least one week, if you intend to change from school dinners to pack lunch or vice versa.

Bringing Money into School (School Meals, Events or Trips)

All money being sent into school for whatever reason should go directly to the school office, in a named envelope and not put in your child’s book bag.

Food and Drink

The children may bring water in a named container although they do have access to the water fountain throughout the school day and are encouraged to keep hydrated. 1/3 pint cartons of milk can be purchased through the Cool Milk scheme at https://www.coolmilk.com/parents and this is drunk mid morning at snack time. Milk is available free of charge up until your child’s 5th birthday. Please do not order milk if your child does not happily drink milk at home. All EYFS AND KS1 children are also given a piece of fruit or vegetable at snack time, so they should not bring any snack from home.
